This is a setting example for distributing birthday coupons using Shopify's marketing automation. In this setting method, the customer segment is specified by tag, but it can also be specified by metafield. It is a bit of a hassle to have to set up 12 months.
Example of a marketing automation setting to distribute birthday coupons to customers tagged with a specific birth month
[Setting method ①] Create a birth month segment and create a coupon valid only for that segment for 12 months (set the expiration date to two months from the birth month)
[Setting Method 2] Create a marketing automation to send emails distributing coupons at the beginning of each month (Part 1) (Set up automation for each month and create one for a total of 12 months)
[Setting Method 3] Create a marketing automation to send an email distributing a coupon at the beginning of the month (Part 2) *Continuation of Setting Method 2 (settings within the same automation)
